I took part in an exquisite breathwork session this afternoon lead by my breathwork buddy @sophie_brigstocke It was Harmonic Breathwork which was beautiful and gentle. I could have done it all afternoon. Sophie said there's research to show that if you do this for 15mins a day for 6 months your heart health will be 10yrs younger! (I think I've quoted this right! 🙈) How incredible is that! It is the most simple thing and when we really harness the power of breath it is so powerful! The word that came up for me towards the end of the breathwork was "surrender" As opposed to pushing Thrive with all the "shoulds" This was reaffirmed by the card Sophie pulled for us at the end! Of course it was! #evidenceofmagic #breathwork #harmonicbreath #breathworkhealer #surrender

I'm sat at my desk and I started to feel a wave of anxiety wash over me. This is a rare feeling for me nowadays. I recognise it as a normal feeling, thank it for helping me, look for what has caused it and do something about it. It's hot, I've just had caffeine and maybe not enough water = put down the frappe and have a pint of electrolytes. Awareness - It's summer holidays, I'm working, looking after the children and planning a holiday all at the same time! I decided to pull a Mind Card by @lililswlondon A wonderful gift from my podcast partner in crime @julieclarknutrition. Of course it was spot on! A quote from Oscar Wilde " To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all." A reminder that this is what I want to spend my life doing; living every moment to the fullest and coaching awesome women do the same. Thank you for bringing me back to my heart (and not buzzing around with all the shoulda woulda coulda in my head!) I invite you to spend a minute (the music with this post is a minute long) breathing and being present in your body. Living doesn't mean you have to be DOING all the time. Have a wonderful day 💖

Halfway through the summer holidays, people!! #isitseptemberyet Over the last few days, I have spoken to at least half a dozen parents who are feeling the strain of the summer holidays. It gets to be different...... 1. Schedule “Me Time”: AND stick to it! Dedicate specific time for yourself, whether it’s a morning workout, a relaxing bath, or simply enjoying a quiet cup of coffee. Work out what works best for you on any given day. Is it best to do your chosen activity an hour before everyone else is up? In the lull straight after lunch? Or When everyone is chilling in the evening or gone to bed? What are your daily non-negotiables? Do you have time for a workout and meditation and a Netflix binge? If so, great! If not, prioritise at least one of them (and not always Netflix) 2. Maintain Routines: While flexibility is crucial, stick to your usual sleep schedule and meal times as much as possible for stability. 3. Small amounts of time are better than nothing at all: an express HIIT session, three big deep breaths, a body scan, a cup of Matcha or Cacao in the garden, or the sung or sitting in child pose for a few minutes. Schedule them, and pick one if you suddenly get a moment to yourself or you are feeling overwhelmed and stressed. 4. Connect with Others: Spend quality time with friends or join support groups to share experiences and gain new perspectives. Maintain business networking if you’re still working over the summer - you probably need that support and outlet even more! Beach or park day? Invite family and friends, too. If your children are having friends over, invite the parents in for a cuppa. They are feeling the same as you! They may have some top tips or you could help them out. This connection and community is invaluable. As my children are getting older, I connect with their friends’ parents less and less, which is a shame. 5. Set Realistic Expectations: Understand that perfect days don’t exist and that having less-than-ideal moments is okay. Focus on progress, not perfection.

In Episode 27 of the Far 2 Fabulous Podcast, Julie Clark Nutrition and I discussed how to survive the summer holidays with your health and sanity intact. My favourite bit was when Julie suggested deciding how you want to feel at the beginning of September, NOW! and putting a plan in motion. 🤔Are you going to choose to maintain your current fitness and well-being levels? 🍦Are you going to totally give in to Summer fun and deal with the fallout in September? 🏋️‍♀️Or do you want to progress your fitness and well-being and have more time and motivation during the summer? There is no wrong choice. Make your decision based on your goals, priorities, current health and the time you have, and own it! Our decisions now are not for us but for our future selves. How do you want to feel in September? Or, realistically, how do you want to feel at Christmas? 🤩Whatever your goal, Vitality Rooms is a good place to begin. Whether you join a live class or choose from on-demand classes, Vitality Rooms makes it fun and convenient to boost your fitness and energy needs. Message me and I'll send you all the details.
